Orbita

Experimental avenues on form and matter

Concept

Orbita is an experimental project which investigates new research avenues for Satellite, 70Materia’s modular kitchen system. Building on the understated design and surfaces of 70Materia®, Orbita pushes beyond the aesthetic and functional boundaries of Satellite, in partnership with emerging and leading designers from the contemporary scene. The project is a journey exploring the potential of materials, aimed at discovering new dimensions of use and meaning within the kitchen space.

SG Rover Table by CARA \ DAVIDE

A moving table in Super Giunto, an innovative material combining the 70Materia® mix with a steel grid. This fusion creates a self-supporting surface, free of visible joints, with both structural and decorative implications. Off-road castors open up unexplored paths within the domestic landscape, while the mix with deep chocolate-coloured basalt aggregates forms a refined contrast with the grid.

Odissea Spaziale by Finemateria

A series of travelling totem-modules which redefine the domestic space. Consisting of 70Materia® slabs and aluminium accessories, they operate as centrally-positioned equipped walls and partitions, integrating mirrors, shelving, and hanging solutions in adaptable layouts. The project introduces Metamorfosi, a bespoke finish that, through varying degrees of manual sanding, achieves a faded effect.

Tier by GROOVIDO

A storage module featuring integrated drawers and display shelves, which reimagines modularity with a ground-breaking language for organising and interacting with space. The module is in Gemme, a new mix by 70Materia® which, thanks to the addition of new magenta aggregates to the basalt ones and blue oxide, it acquires an unprecedented hue reminiscent of digital imagery and a contemporary aesthetic.
